Facing Problems

Facing Problems

oc-audio-20170130

Are you facing a problem – What are you going to do with that problem?

I can remember my mother saying “You’ve got problems; I’ve got problems; all God’s children have got problems. The vital question is how are you going to deal with those problems?”

Life’s problems are not going to stop until we draw our last breath.

Scripture reminds us in Psalm 34:19 “The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time.”

When we are faced with problems, as followers of Jesus Christ, we should heed to the example that was set before us – He, Jesus, called upon his FATHER for help.

Listen to what Jeremiah 33:3 says, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

Together, let’s make it our prayer and goal to humble ourselves and call out for God’s SUPERNATURAL HELP.

Prevailing Peace

What would it look like for PEACE to prevail in your life?

Jesus, the son of God, reminds us in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you… Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

Three things stand out in this passage – Peace/Trouble/Fear.

I once read –

Worry does not take away tomorrow’s TROUBLE; it takes away today’s PEACE!

We need to understand that Peace doesn’t mean that negative circumstances or troubling situations won’t befall us. To the contrary, these trials often serve as the gateway for God’s divine Spirit to intervene.

In genuine seasons of revival, the followers of God realize that “FEAR” is the absence of faith, but “PEACE” is the presence of the Lord.

Let’s make it our prayer that peace would prevail in our life as we put our problems into God’s hands.

Getting Dressed

Getting Dressed

Have you ever considered how much time you spend getting dressed on a daily basis?

We live in a day and age where our society is bent towards self-awareness. We approach the day looking for ways to make ourselves look good. Are we giving the same attention to the inner being?

Colossians 3:12 reminds us to “clothe ourselves with compassion…”

Could it be that the greatest impression that we will leave with someone isn’t going to come through the clothes we wear, the grooming techniques we administer, or the bling we adorn ourselves with? But instead it is going to come through the words we speak, the attitudes we convey, and the actions we display.

Poet Robert Frost once said: “There never was any heart truly great and generous, that was not also tender and compassionate.”

In genuine seasons of revival, the followers of God take greater strides in dressing themselves with compassion.
